Stolen Macbook returned with detection software, blog, vtooitr

This is an interesting story that appears today on PCWORLD.

A man named Joshua Kauffman has reported the theft to the police his Macbook on 21 March this year. Two months after the report, the police did nothing with it.

Fortunately, he has detection software and protection of your computer, which he could give the location of the device, and the thief as he uses the computer. But Oakland's police are still not so wanted to act on the information they had.

Things began to change when Joshua began to publish the story in a blog that is open and read a special issue called hgaoni "this guy has the my Macbook". He was also lciitz on Twitter. He published location and photos of thief. The northern side of the community on Twitter and move the hciocim his rate of thousands of times, until the program Good Morning America caught the story. When this happened the stories became hot, suddenly thought of the case, police seized the thief and returned him to the evening.

Here's a link to the original storyPCWORLDon.

This is interesting on several levels:

A. it shows the desire of the authorities ' directive (in this case, the OAKLAND Police Department) help troubleshooting simple citizen, even when there is evidence ????????? truncate, and not feel they have something to come out of it.

2. it shows that the phenomenon of detection and protection systems installed on the computer and the phone can help very positive gathering material on the location and the thief, and whether the authorities want to use the evidence only of these thieves can become lganom.

3. they show that Twitter and blogs are essential for distributing information, and to reach a critical mass of the topic for the day, the authorities least coprtibiot begin to collaborate.

So please note, these software today with computers and telephones can be found, if you haven't installed them, look for the easiest finds pleasing vtasho.
